Nighttime News for April 14th 2013!!!

Sorry guys for not writing anything for a while, but here I am, reporting for duty!!!  Let's get down to the real stuff:

Outrageous Weather:

Look outside your window and the story is there!  What kind of weather is it supposed to be this upcoming week?  We have the highest of 68 on Monday with some showers here and there across the week.  But what about today?  We had actual SNOW!  I was watching my TV then all of a sudden I heard a pelting noise on the window panes, I looked outside to find hard pellets of frozen snow falling from the sky, just like yesterday!  So weird!  I guess they can say now:  "April snowers bring May flowers"  But how is there snow?  Probably because of the cold front that came down from up north.  When a cold front hits a warm spot, it creates precipitation, and if you live in a place that's already cold, then the climate will definitely be cold enough for it to snow.  And that's today's science lesson, for you folks out there!

Penalties of Golf

It probably has gotten to you already, but did you know that the Masters has penalized two people in the latest tournament in Augusta, GA?  The first one was against the youngest player in the tournament, a 14 year old boy from China!  They claimed that his time for hitting his golf ball was over the 40 second time limit.  Of course he is an amateur at this, he still is very good at golf.   Luckily the stroke did get him through to the next round for Saturday where he ended the day with a +9.  Check out Tiger Woods!  Did you hear how he shot the golf ball for the 15th hole, the golf ball hit the flag pole just perfectly that it bounced into the water?!  After he signed the card(a slip of paper that he has written his scores on) a TV watcher called in, saying he dropped his golf ball in the wrong place!  He was penalized 2 strokes because "He should have added two shots to his score." writes Doug Ferguson on Yahoo Sports.  Woods did have a chance at the winning the Masters, if he didn't get that penalty!  View the player's current scores on Yahoo Sports

If you were watching, then you must've seen the great finish by an Australian called Adam Scott.  An amazing birdie at the end of the game brought him up to a -9 !!!  Great 2 30 foot putts, Adam!  After the two players, Angel Cabrera and Adam Scott, play for the first place spot in "overtime".  Adam won by just one stroke at another (about) 30 foot putt!

Trey Burke's Announcement

It is confirmed that Trey Burke(3), after bringing Michigan's basketball team to the NCAA Championship for the first time in two decades, is skipping his two seasons in college and jumping to the NBA draft!  It was confirmed today for the underclassmen draft deadline on April 28th.  It is also said that Tim Hardaway Jr., Mitch McGary, and Glenn Robinson III are being contemplated for turning to pro.  Check here for more info.

Hope this was a great report for you guys!

NEW NEWS!!

I couldn't wait for Sunday, because it would be over, but Accuweather.com has said that the Aurora Borealis could be visible for the people in Ann Arbor!!!  They said that from the solar flare on Thursday has caused an expected Aurora Borealis in the region of A2.  "This flare was "impressive", these are the best conditions for seeing a direct effect on our planet" says Astronomer Hunter Outten.  "The flare is also expected to cause vibrant northern lights from the Arctic as far south as New York, the Dakotas, Washington and Michigan, with a smaller possibility of it going into Pennsylvania and Iowa, even Kansas." writes Samantha-Rae Tuthill.  Too bad there are clouds right now!  But if you are in the area that Samantha-Rae Tuthill pointed out, then try looking outside between 8:00pm to 3:00 am Sunday!

New News for The Station!

This is your anchoerette coming from you live!  Hey guys!  Sorry we haven't published any new news, but uggh school has rolled around again and it's hard to find the time to get any work here done.  Let's start off with the weather!

Weather for tonight:

A small wind of 13 mph with the low of 27 degrees F.  Then tomorrow with the small percent chance of it raining and the high of 39!  Snow is in the air!  On Wednesday we have a high of 43 and some sunshine.

News and facts about today.
Think... Think.... Think... Who does all this extra thinking??? You guessed it!  The Thinker!  Created by a French sculptor named Auguste Rodin.  Anyone here of the name of the sculptor, usually people when they think of The Thinker they think of the Smithsonian, not the guy who created it. (PLEASE ANSWER POLL BEFORE MOVING ON!August Rodin was born on the 12th of NoVember 1840 - 17th of November 1917, in Paris.  He was also known as François-Auguste-René RodinThis guys was schooled traditionally, and took a craftsmen-like approach to his work, he desired academic recognition too.  I guess he got enough of that if he got his awesome sculpture.  There's your daily history lesson! ;)

Sports:
You watched the 49ers and the Rams play the other day?  You know the rules, if you're a pro football super fan, you can tie in a pro game, but apparently the the two teams failed at knowing the basic rules of overtime!  Wow, maybe they should go back to elementary school and learn about that stuff again.  Once in 2008 another game was played in a way like this game, the score was tied, and the overtime ended, but what happened?  The Eagles quaterback didn't know the basic rules of catch and play, he claimed that he had never been in in of those situations before so he just assumed they had more time.  Tsk tsk tsk.

On to the college football.  Last weekend the Michigan team won their spot into one of the bowls along with Wisconsin!  Go Badgers!  Also the #1 team in America was beaten by Texas A&M (ranked 15) last weekend too by 4 points!  Amazing!

Sandy
Finally Sandy is gone, multiple people have lost their homes because of Sandy, can you help them?  Just donate a few $s to the American Red Cross Association!

That's it for now!  Going to watch some Star Trek The Next Generation! ;)

Sunday's Nighttime News!

Coming from you, LIVE!  at the stations, this is yours truly, anchorette:  KATIE!  "Thanks you! Thank you!  Let's start out with this news with a bang!  Okay, so... I've collected some pretty cool news from this week!  Anyone here of the cat that saved his owner's life?  Or, about the fight going on with peanut butter being banned?  And maybe the answer to King Tut mysterious death?  Tune in for just a few minutes and we'll fill you in on all of it!!!

Let's get off with the crazy cat story, anyone here of it?  It was recently posted on Yahoo.com on Saturday.  Let's tune in on the story, and maybe a link:
http://news.yahoo.com/video/pet-cat-saves-owners-life-193000502.html
Pretty amazing, so a cat, saved from the wild, saves her owner from a cardiac arrest!  By just trying to get attention from the other owner, the wife of the person having the cardiac arrest.  Luckily, the man who was in pain was saved, and now "lives to tell the story" along with his beloved cat!  Aww!  And for all you Warriors lovers, this cat, I think, might have been a true warrior.  May Starclan light his path!

To the peanut butter duel.  Lately, due to severe food allergies to peanuts, schools have been forced to forbid peanut products.  But in some schools, parents have protested against it.  One person said "Some Autistic kids only eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and nothing else."  But a parent of a food allergic kid says that she just wants her son to be safe in his health, and they're sorry for all the trouble.  I can understand both sides.  But recently having a food allergy to peanuts have spiked over the decade about 18%, according to the CDC.  Essentially 1 ind 25 children have a food allergy!  Read more about this here:

Amazing with that interesting info, here's one more thing:

Answer to King Tut's mysterious death?
So these scientists were doing some scans on King Tut, one of the scientists on that team claims:  "The answer might've been in just plain sight!"  So, anyways, they were scanning and found a fracture in the bone of King Tut's leg.  Later, they suggested that King Tut might've had epilepsy.  A certain thing where the person might've been injured to the head, so any minor injuries might kill them.  I might not be correct on the definition, but the idea to it is, the fracture int he bone coud've been the thing that killed King Tut.

And on to the WEATHER!

Tonight:  Low of 46 F, with a small breeze of 5mph coming from the SSW.

Tomorrow: high of 79, with a low touch on 54 F.  It'll be mostly sunny, with no chance of rain. And a little breeze of about 14mph from the S.  And the humidity at about 53%.

Tuesday (Sept. 18th): Will be the high of some 65s, and the dip of 35!  Mostly showers, with 60% chance.  Mostly the same breeze, 15 mph, coming from the NW.  Pack your rain jackets and coats for today!  It'll be a cold one!

Wednesday (Sept. 19th): Partly cloudy with the high of 67, and a smaller dip of 42.  Only 20% chance of rain, and a small wind of 8mph from the WSW.

Thursday (Sept. 20th): Showers, high of 73, with a small dip of 48.  40% chance of rain, with that 11mph wind coming from the South.

Friday (Sept. 21st): Few showers, with that high of 72, and a dip of 46.  31% chance of rain, with a 14mph wind from the WSW.

Well, that's it for this Nighttime News, this is your anchorette signing off!

Updates and the Nighttime News....

I just wanted to say that I will be now posting every Sunday, so stay tuned for those days! ;)  Well, back to the news!

This is coming to you live, with your host and anchorette: Katie!  *cheers and applause*  I hope your having a good night tonight!  Nothing too much to report, just some special day coming up, can anyone guess it?  That's right it's 9-11 tomorow!  Let's all make sure that we do that "I will" thing!  What?  some of you don't know about that?  Then I'll tell you in a few secs....

About 9-11:

Okay, some of you guys were asking about 9-11's "I will" thingy.  Well, we all know that 9-11 is when spongebob quit his job.  No, it was when the terrorists decided to scare the country by ramming into the two towers and destroy them.  Some brave people, *cough* firefighters *cough* and police, went in there and tried to save the people in the two buildings, even if they fell.  May everyone who died helping or just there R.I.P.  On that note, the "I will" thing is where you can pledge to do something extra on 9-11.  whether it's hugging your older brother to picking up trash in the neighborhood.  Whatever it is, it brings the country closer together, so let's all say it:

I WILL:

You can fill in the space however you want to....

Okay, for the weather!

Tonight is going to be the low of 50 degrees, and watch out for that small biting wind 5 mph from the South!  It's going to have 61% humidity and the moon at a waning crescent.   It'll be mostly clear!  0% chance of rain tonight! Great!!!

Tomorrow is going to be partly cloudy with 10% of rain.  High of 80, but unfortunately for the kids who have to get up early, we'll have to wake up to about the mid-50's.  There's 52% humidity, and the sunrise is around 7:11!  just after I get on the bus!

That's about it for tonight!  This is your favorite anchorette signing off!!

GOOD BYE!  AND GOOD NGITH NIGHT!

~Yours truly.

BREAKING NEWS!

Breaking News!

Look in the clouds!  It's a bird!  No, it's a plane, no!  IT'S A BLUE MOON!

Tonight has some pretty special things going on here tonight!  Have you heard that Neil Armstrong died from some heart disease problems?  Tonight they are having aspecial ceremony for him, may he rest in peace.  Also, tonight, is a BLUE MOON!  Some people might be thinking "what in the world is a blue moon?!" Well, I'll tell you!  A blue moon accurs every three years!  Here are some facts from Yahoo.com:

"If you're more inclined to watch the real thing, the best viewing is usually available outside of town, away from the glare of city lights. Viewing is enhanced even more if you can find a nearby lake or pond that will reflect the moon's light. Of course, avoiding cloud cover is a must, so knowing where to find patches of clear sky is key. Chances are there's a micro climate near you to do so."  The blue moon doesn't mean it's actually blue, it refers to the meaning that there was two full moons accuring in one month!

Hope you guys get to see it!   And again, may Neil Armstrong rest in peace!
